David Hodges - Lead Vocals
David's first band was a tribute hair band in high school, which after
a few practices and the birth of grunge died a quick death. He then
spent two years touring the east coast with Tranze and Phantom D, playing both
solo shows and festivals and opening for acts such as .38 Special and
Michael Moralis. In early 2009 he and Sam founded the short-lived but well-received Men
in Canoes before landing in The Daze.

Sam Stafford - bass guitar, harmonica and vocals
Sam celebrates the nuanced simplicity of
the bass guitar in
rock-and-roll. A “piano player by birth”, Sam has been
playing music since age five. Previously, he spent five years
as bassist and backup vocalist for the acoustic alternative rock band Yekrats.
Although he developed much of his musical identity through years of classical
piano training, Sam tends toward minimalism in his approach to music. Some of his influences include
Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd,
Neil Young,
Lou Reed and
AC/DC.
